On October 11th 2020, International day of the girl child named her theme " My Voice, Equals my Future." This brings to mind what a famous American writer Rebecca Solnit said; " Silence and Powerlessness goes hand in hand - women's voice must be heard ." Our voice are essential aspect of our humanity. To be rendered voiceless is to be dehumanized or excluded from one's humanity. Nowadays, crimes like child marriage, rape, abusive relationship, domestic violence, molestation etc are seen as normal event that occurs in a society. It has gotten to point that such crimes are been hidden by victims and family members to avoid shame. Cos, even if it is voiced out, justice wouldn't be done. Silence is what allows people to suffer without recourse, what allows hypocrisies and lies to grow and flourish, crimes to go unpunished. Once upon a time, a lovely couple waits patiently for the arrival of their first child. Calculating by medical principles the time of birth by adding 280 days to the start of the last menstruation. The D day comes, mummy is due for delivery. The cervix dilates to allow passage of the baby's head and body. Where the uterus and the birth canal together forms a curved passage. The amnion bursts,  there the doctor says " rupture of the membranes has taken place." Lol and behold, the cry of a mother_to_be is heard in the labour room by the command  PUSH! . Slowly, the baby's head is out and it turns to face the mother's hip. This turning makes the shoulder of the baby emerge out easily. There and then, ergometrine is administered.
